The JRS 50 is a versatile, yet simple 2 channel, footswitchable amp with dedicated clean and overdive channels, and like every amp I build, can be voiced for your needs.

 

The OD channel features a master volume, while the clean channel's overall volume is set by it's single volume knob, for smooth and seamless switching between channels.

 

While the demo video highlights the clean channel at moderate settings, and the OD channel at max gain, the amp has of massive array of everything inbetween.

For instance, the clean channel is capable of mild overdrive, similar to a blackface on steroids, and reminiscent of Theluxe 50, as well as spanky tele stuff.

The OD channel is capable of everything from warm, classic plexi tones to hotrodded 800 sounds.

 

The two channels are designed so that they compliment one another, and don't sound like they're from different planets.

The frequency response is set up in a way that switching between channels sounds very natural, and seamless.

 

The clean channel features Volume, Treble and Bass, and compliments the OD channel.

Imagine warm, syrupy cleans without the sterility and spikyness often associated with clean channels.

 

The OD channel features Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, and Master Volume. A Presence control is shared by both channels.

A single 3-way gain voicing switch, in conjunction with the gain control, gives ranges from classic mild overdrive to over the-top-hot-rodded crunch,

and everything inbetween.

 

Voicing switch : The "middle" position is "stock" and gets classic fat crunch. The "up" position is the "modded" voicing and features more gain, and a mid boost.

The "bottom" position's gain voicing also features more gain than the middle, but less than the top, and provides a tight treble boost.

 

The JRS 50 differs from the Plexus, in that the clean channel is more plexi-like in the Plexus, and more blackface-like in the JRS 50. 

 

The JRS50 is available as both a head and a 1x12 combo, in both black and blonde tolex.
