Theluxe 40 and 50 models are the evolution of the Ortiz 50, the James Ortiz (Amplified Heat) signature model.

The 50 is the original single channel amplifier, while the 40 features a dedicated, switchable overdrive channel.

If your ideal tones are somewhere between blackface and plexi,

this is the amp for you. 

Based on the classic American circuits of the late 60's and early 70's,

Theluxe features no reverb, no vibrato, no frills, and all the sparkle yet grit you could ever want. Go from chicken-pickin country clean to roadhouse rumble and all sorts of transitional overdrive inbetween, with a travel up the gain dial.

The Master Volume allows you to dial in classic overdrive at any volume. We have also employed three switches, to expand the tonal palette:

The Boost switch affects the mid-frequencies, pushing the tone into British territory. The Lift switch either partially, or completely removes the tone stack, for a more raw sound and feel. The Fat switch thickens things up, and works great for singles or humbuckers. Now you've got a pure rock-n-roll amp, too!
